Company: City of Hope

Job title: Professor

Bio:

Marcin Kortylewski, Ph.D. is a Professor in the Department of Immuno-Oncology at the Beckman Research Institute, City of Hope. His research focuses on the molecular mechanisms of tumor immune escape and translating these insights into DNA/RNA-based cancer immunotherapies. He developed an immune cell-selective oligonucleotide delivery platform targeting tumor-associated myeloid and B-cells to inhibit undruggable transcriptional regulators such as STAT3, NF-κB or miRNAs. Two of the targeted RNA therapeutics from his lab have entered clinical trials. Dr. Kortylewski is a co-founder and scientific advisor to several biotech startups.

Seminars:

Cancer Immunotherapy Using RNA Aptamers for Cell-Selective Delivery or Intracellular Target Inhibition 11:30 am

Expanding therapeutic horizons of aptamers beyond conventional targets on cell surface Leveraging innovative oligonucleotide chemistries to enable novel cancer treatment strategies Advancing conjugation technologies to enhance delivery and address complex myeloid cell biologyRead more

day: Conference Day Two

Panel Discussion: Turning Setbacks into Strategy, what Clinical Trial Failures Teach us About Building Better Oligonucleotide Therapies 9:00 am

Unpack the reasons behind trial discontinuations: Was it the oligo, delivery system, or something else? Identify overlooked red flags in preclinical models, PK data, or target biology that led to setbacks Discuss how teams rebounded, what pivots, partnerships, or reformulations turned failure into future successRead more
